We finally broke and neither one of us completed the challenge on Saturday (technically day 5). I wouldn't say that we gave up, we just ran out of time to do it while we had the energy. Our normal morning routine was broken again because we had some awesome friends come over and babysit for us the night before. However, our only guest bed is the pull out couch in the living room and we didn't want to wake them up at the crack of dawn. We also had to finish our car purchase first thing in the morning because we had to leave the dealership on Friday to pick up our daughter...with the new car of course. By the time we finished the paperwork on Saturday, it was time to put Paige down for a nap. In fact, we were all so exhausted from the negotiating that we all took a nap at the same time. In all honesty, that was when we had planned to do the shred because it's impossible to do it with the kid awake. We thought we could do it while Paige was eating dinner like we did on Friday night, but when the time came we were both still too tired so neither one of us could motivate the other to complete Saturday's challenge.
So today (Sunday) was day 6 of the challenge but really only day 5 of actually exercising. I guess we can always discuss the real number with Jillian (are you reading this?? Haha). Instead of waking up before Paige, we decided to try the exercise while she was eating breakfast. She wasn't a complete angel but she managed to stay in her high chair the entire time. I wouldn't say I was the best workout partner either but I managed to complete the level 2 exercise for the day. I don't know if it was because we skipped a day, we were exercising in the morning again, or if I am just weak but I did not have any strength today during the strength exercises. I had no problem with the cardio or ab exercises, it was just during those damn arm exercises that I ran out of stamina. I think I told Ali about 10 times that I can't do this challenge in the morning but I was really mad at myself for not being able to do a simple strength exercise with two 8 pound weights. I felt good on Friday evening with level 1 but I know I had a very hard time doing level 2 the first time. So I'm going to stick with the morning routine and just let out my frustration on the weights. Hey, we're completing 2 challenges at once. We're challenging our body by doing the exercises and we're challenging our relationship by agreeing to do this thing together!
